Yep, it's me again! Posting and crafting! LOL! I finally have some time off to really get in the studio and play! Oh what fun it is to craft..la la la la la la la! I've been trying to catch up with the patterns and tutorials I missed out on during Christmas. Y'all I'm in heaven! Really Heaven! It's hysterical...How many project can you have going on all at once? I literally am working on my own designs, stop, work on one of Laura or Kathy's then back to mine! LOL! This may not be the best way to get things accomplished but I sure am having fun!
Here are a few of the things I completed so far this week...More to come!
This is from Laura's Incredible Stack The Deck Pattern that can be found over at Following The Paper Trail. This pattern has basically four patterns within the one! I chose to do the box/paperbag version. Make sure you check out the Stack The Deck Spine! It's clean and has a low profile. So Cool!
Here's mine all dressed up for Valentines!
Here is another project that I completed from Kathy Orta's Tutorial. It's from her Secretary Pattern that you can find over at PaperPhenomenon. Of course I had to Man It Up a bit. I was going for an antique writing box. So obviously I pulled out the grunge paper and Tim's Distress ink! Hahah!
Thanks For Looking!
Jim

Oh, I like the writing box. I haven't tried my hand at making 3D paper projects. I am stuck on cards. I need to get out of my box and make a box!

Awesome job on both project. Glad that you had a nice family Christmas I can't wait to tackle both of these tutorials (bought them before Christams as my prize for getting all the Christmas gifts finished)

Fabulous envelope album!! I've completed the inside of mine, but not the box yet. Wanna come over and help!! I don't think I'll even come close to the awesome job you did. Also haven't started Kathy's project yet. It's a little intimidating. 'Fraid it will come out all "wonky" instead of nice and square.

I have just come over from the Paper Phenomenon ning site which I have recently joined, I love your Writing Box & everything else you have made come to that.
Your Wine box is gorgeous, you are very talented, maybe you should do a tutorial.
I live in the UK so its very difficult to get some of the papers that are used, Your beautiful work has inspired me to make a start rather than just looking, Thank you for that inspiration

WOW!! Love both projects. I'd seen the secretary over at Paper Phenom. but didn't spend much time looking at it becasue it looked too complicated for my feeble brain...LOL!!!
I really like the gift bag/box...gonna have to go check it out.

Oh silly me! I confused your paper bag/box Stack the deck project with Laura's Mixed envelope mini. I'm working on both and want to put them both in a "box." Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jim!
I so want to make that secretary box. It's a lot of chipboard cutting and that holds me back. I am hoping to give it a try real soon. I watch all these shows, but don't make a whole lot. That needs to change, so may be my resolution for the New Year. LOL

Love the projects. "The secretary" is my favorite. I too, am a follower of Kathy's blog. So many projects to make, so little time!

Hi Jim,
Thanks for sending me your blog address.
Could you tell me what paper collection or collections you used on your stack the deck valentine box?
Did you use a die for the flowers ?
Thanks for sharing! Your projects are wonderful!.

Hiya Dixie!
Sure....for the Stack the Deck Val Box i used Recollections Union Station paper pack. I got it from Michaels. Unfortunately, I cant find a link for you. I understand that there is another one with the exact same papers from My Minds Eye that you can get at Hobby Lobby. Heres a link:
http://shop.hobbylobby.com/store/item.aspx?ItemId=179974
I believe the one from Hobby Lobby is a paper weight whereas the one from Michaels is a card stock weight.
And yes, for the flowers I used Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die:

and the Tim Holtz Heart Wings Die:

Thank You Thank You!

Funny - what a small world crafting is... I watch Laura and Kathy all the time and I was looking at the same paper pack (tattered time) to do the desk organizer... I think Laura and Kathy are chipboard wizzards!
Happy Creating!
